Conductivity and workability
Aluminum is highly resistant to corrosion, and it conducts electricity better than iron and steel, though less well than copper. It is a metal that cools quickly and absorbs heat. Its density is roughly one third that of metals such as steel and copper. It can easily be forged, machined and cast. Because it is so easy to work, sophisticated profile details can readily be produced by extrusion, a factor that further increases demand for the material.
